Comments
Comments: LW frozen mud good footing, the storm wash made it better imo and love that the 1.8 mile in bridge is useable after years of closure. Black Pond good shape too, the stupid tiny log bridge with a whole in the middle at the beginning is gone. Black pond herdpath in excellent shape. Lincoln Brook 2 mile stretch not as soggy, muddy or icy as expected. Used Wiggy's Waders for crossings 2 ad 3 with hillsounds over them. I check cfs for E Branch Pemi at Lincoln when doing Owls Head. I am rated for 650 cfs. Night before it was around 548 and then morning of just under 500 cfs. Hillsounds for climb and descent. Brutus was the best footing ever no ice or mud some light snow over frozen ground you could see all the roots. On Owls Head Path intermittent blue ice under snow traction necessary. Ridge had modest packed snow. As Teal stated, summit cairn gone. Saw 4 people all day and 4th was not even going to Owlie. Happy New Year and be Safe!
