Comments
Comments: Well we headed off to more closed in peaks today. We would have hit up the ridge but the wind held us back. We started off seeing a set of ladies heading to Willard. Melissa spiked from the start and I barebooted. Once we passed the split for a-z trail we soon passed another set of ladies saying they were headed to field and soon after I put on my snowshoes because how could I resist my televators. was very surprised on the whole trip that the trails were in quite nice shape still from the rain. Lower was wet and little snow but higher were still nicely groomed. Once we passed Avalon Melissa put her snowshoes on soon and we were the only prints up for the day. It started to snow on us and no views on field. A gray jay was puffed up when we got there waiting for some foods but we were not eating yet. We headed over to willey knowing the trail would not be as good which we were right but no issues with snowshoes on. All the cracks are pretty much covered up. It was snowing a lot in there and some drifts. We made it to the summit for some snacks and more snow. When we turned around some of our tracks were snowed in already. And soon enough I was breaking fresh powder again! We caught a guy going to Willey with just spikes on and I could not have deal with that punishment. It was crazy to then have the guys prints gone and looking like distant prints. When we headed down we saw snowshoe prints that were newer heading down Avalon. We swapped to spikes soon after the spur trail to avalon and after the 2nd crossing I went to bareboots for the last .2. Good day in the mountains.
