I prefer to hike in snow shoes, but decided to use micro spikes instead. Overall, conditions were fine, but would have preferred snow shoes for the last two miles leading to the summit. There was much more snow above 3400' than I experienced yesterday on Old Speck. The initial ascent was all ice with little snow. Trail easy to follow. |
