Comments
Comments: a mix of ice, snow and bare ground down low on the logging roads. more snow coverage higher up. often crusty with sections of softer powder. patches of ice easily navigated. trail packed out, but softer up high.

we wore microspikes the whole hike. snowshoes not necessary until next storm.

i had never hiked the mt. cabot trail before due to the land owner issues, but we decided to give it a shot today. we had no problems and were far from the only folks out there. you'll have to use your own judgement. i would just suggest making sure not to obstruct the road or the driveways to the houses at its end.

it had warmed up a bit down low from when we hiked waumbek in the morning, but was still cold and windy up high. absolutely beautiful day. thanks to cynthia for braving the cold and getting in a couple of good hikes.
