Hadn't been on this trail in many years - it's a super-pretty trail. Was pretty cautious on all the rocks climbing the headwall. Then, the final half mile to summit was pretty slippery - had to pick footing carefully - took me a while because I'm old enough to know it's way too easy to slip. I didn't use any spikes/etc but I did carry them - snow/ice was just too thin. Super day. Had nice long lunch on summit tho it was brisk. I carried most of my winter pack stuff including my down coat and wore winter boots/gaiters, goretex shell and was pretty comfy. I'd say temps were in the 20s. |
