What a fun loop in a pretty part of the state. Neat carvings on Harriskat Trail on downed trees (salamander, snake, frog, dragon and an owl on a Boulder. Nice mossy/ferny glacial erratics, and a pretty pond.
We did the loop clockwise. Views of the Pack Monadnocks from Skatutakee, and a great view of Monadnock from Thumb. Enjoyed lunch sitting on the circle of rocks next to the cairn on Thumb. Cool area.
Saw a few people but mostly had the trails to ourselves. |
