nice day out before the rain..as previous reports stated great footbed throughout.. started out with snowshoes on packs but it became pretty evident we would not need them and ditched in the woods. microspikes were perfect today.
went up South first..some icy spots on the step edges but spikes adequate for the job..breezy on South and we ducked down below to quick snack and change layers..nice soft ride along the ridge on a soft snow footbed..snowshoes could have been used but spikes were fine.
Nice to run into and chat with Phil along the ridge who had gone the other way. Gorgeous clear views from North outlook though you could see the clouds coming north..windy there..in the teens I guess. Nice descent with good footing and only patches of ice today...better than summer really... Made great time out on smooth firm trail bed.. fun day out with Val and Ali.. way to go Ali on 37 and 38 |
