Beautiful morning for a visit to Peaked Hill Pond and a bushwhack to a ledge above the pond. Didn’t encounter any hikers on the approach, and trail conditions were mostly dry. From the pond, I ascended the eastern ridge to a ledge viewpoint at 2,100 ft., where I found excellent views across to the Sandwich Range. Woods on this section were mostly open, with only a few steep areas to navigate around. From the viewpoint, I continued bushwhacking 0.3 miles NW across to the northern summit bump, where I found a string hanging from a tree, but no register. Overall this was a nice half-day trip and my first visit to this area — a few photos are at the link below. |
