|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked in nicely plowed Sabbaday Falls lot and easy road walk to the Pine Bend Brook trail head. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Wet Trail, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Pine Bend Brook crossings not bridged but all easily rock-hopped. Umpteen ridiculous trail crossings on lower reaches of Sabbaday Brook Trail neither safely bridged nor hoppable - happy for good gaiters and warm, water proof boots. Would avoid - wish we'd whacked. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Minor blowdowns on Pine Bend Brook. Larger blowdowns on Sabbaday Brook requiring hike-arounds. |

 | Comments: |
Still not quite enough snow coverage to warrant snowshoes and crampons. Made do with microspikes most of the day, but wish they were sharper. :) Very icy on upper reaches of both Pine Bend and Sabbaday. |
