Comments
Comments: Started this hike at 815 as a leader of an AMC NH YM chapter camping group. The hike itself was off the books though. Up airline trail. Airline was slightly wet but not too bad. Made it to the hut for a hot drink. Up & down from Madison by 1215pm. At the summit of Madison another layer was warranted (it was cool enough in the morning layers were needed). When the sun was high the extra layers came off comfortably. Pretty straightforward hump up to adams out & back via gulfside, rough as always. The decent was down valley way which was basically a running stream (not in an excessive way just running water present most of the way). Finished the hike at 415pm with liberal breaks & multiple hut stops.

Great way to spend the first day of fall.
