Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One reason I chose this trail was to see the work Jeremy and friends had done. Great steps and water bars. I am sure USFS will hire them as trail crew chiefs.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Emma and Toby had a great time. They met four other dogs, one of them a service dog for a blind person

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a medium sized black hooded sweatshirt draped over a branch in the hard wood stand. I took it down to the TH and draped it around the sign post.

Comments
Comments: The calendar said first day of winter but the weather said it was more like early October or even April. Little ice at first but once slabbing the south facing slope it was dry and easy. But once in the conifers going down to the last crossing and from there heading up all the way to the summit it was glare ice in the middle of the trail from earlier boot traffic, and microspikes were the right choice. The group of six with their four dogs I met on the way up all wore light traction.
