Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Despite heavy rain on Friday night, by Saturday and Sunday, the trail was easily navigable with rock hopping or just going through the mud.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail crew has done well with all of these trails though with the rains, underbrush is quickly trying to overtake some of the less-used trails (like along the ridge).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Started the hike at the same time as a group of about 6 people and their 8 dogs started up Roberts. Along the way met a few other great trail dogs which were all extremely well-behaved and a joy to see them out enjoying the trail and beautiful weather!
Bugs
Bugs: There were definitely plenty of mosquitos out. The first day I didn't suffer much as the bug spray kept them at bay but the second day was a bit worse as the spray wore off and I didn't carry any with me.

Comments
Comments: Made this a 2-day backpacking trip, going clockwise and finding a camping spot below Black Snout Peek to break up the larger loop into two days just because. Loved the ridges leading up to Roberts, the Ridge Trail (was alone for 2 hours, on a Saturday, with GREAT weather!), Bald Knob, and the waterfalls and cascades to finish up the hike. If I were to only do part of this hike, I would advise going to the waterfalls and up to Bald Knob.
