Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to get above treeline. Winds were more gentle than forecast but cold temps made face protection worthwhile. Jewell trail is well packed to Gulfside. Needs just a bit more snow for solid base. Put microspikes on in first mile and kept them on the whole hike. Some drifting up high and a bit of post holing in spots but not enough coverage for snowshoes. Still bare bootable or use light traction.
