 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossing on Benton was not rockhoppable today, but we were fine wading through a shallower part |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Two trees down on Benton -both easy to get around more or less |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Only saw our two all day -except for up top. Plenty of water, so no issues there for them. The stream crossing was fine-we have one swimmer and she just had a blast. The other one doesn’t love it as much -went half way and then wanted some support on the first crossing. Second crossing she went all the way on her own -I stood upstream from her. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Not too bad..last .2 at the top of Benton was a bit black fly crazy on the way up. Seemed fine on the way down. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Lost my hiking pole on the river crossing….tried to locate it, but off it went. Nice Leki pole blue/purple…unlikely to be found -but mentioning it just in case. |

 | Comments: |
Today we decided to hike Tunnel Brook up Benton. Started off cloudy…but what a treat to have it clear at the top and for the whole way back. Tunnel Brook was fun and easy -soooo many butterflies! Benton was exquisite -stunning trail and a lovely gradual up and down (No surprise trails are wet and muddy) We only saw two people on our main trails -plenty of folks converged up top. On our “go back and do again list”. |
