| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I got a later start around 9, a couple places left right across from the trailhead |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Most were rock hop-able but one was a bit more challenging. I met a couple who turned back after deciding it wasn't safe for them. I found a safe way where it wasn't as narrow, deeper water but current wasn't crazy. Saw someone else jump the more narrow spot but they skidded onto all 4s and looked surprised. His companion took my route. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No problematic blowdowns, lots of rocks to step on, lots of rock steps |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a few dogs - I would think some might have trouble just before you get to the top where there are chunky steep slabs |
| Bugs: |
No bugs until most of the way down and then had a few biting deer flies |
| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
Recommend the lookouts - Bugle Cliff and Elephant Head - did those on the way down - nice perspectives of the train tracks, station, Highland Ctr and the Mt Washington Hotel
So many slugs today - they seemed to be wherever I reached for a hand hold! |
