Comments
Comments: With showers and storms in the forecast it was a good day to stay low on Mt. Washington for Seek The Peak.

These trails were wet of course! The Direttissima also had some mud pits in places. What a cool trail though where it runs alongside overhanging cliffs. Tuckerman was a careful dance on slippery/sweaty rocks both up and down.

We saw no one on The Direttissima, one trail runner on Glen Boulder, and Tuckerman was the usual busy trade route with both well-prepared hikers, trail runners, and tourists.

Around 2:15 as we were coming back down Tuckerman we passed a group of teenagers heading up. They had one tiny pack between them and were dressed in gym shorts, sneakers and no shirts. They asked us how much further it was to the summit and I flat out told them they were unprepared to make that trip given the late hour, weather forecast, lack of knowledge of the route, and lack of gear. They said they were going to go a little further and off they went. If they made it as far as Hermit Lake Shelter, I hope the volunteers there had a chat and sent them back down.

Views of the ravine and surrounding ridges were in and out of the clouds. Rain showers began as we were at Hermit Lake and persisted on and off for the walk down. The humidity was, shall we say, not ideal. Is it October yet?
