Comments
Comments: Welch Trail going up was wet and muddy most all of the way to the viewpoint 1.3 miles up from the parking lot. The previous heavy rains washed off a lot of leaf decay and sediment from the trail exposing the gravel base which, along with many rocks and roots, made for an easy hike by staying on trail. From the viewpoint to the Welch and Dickey summits the trail was mostly dry with occasional wet spots on some of the steeper ledges but the wet areas were mostly avoidable by staying on dryer ledge. Dickey Trail was mostly dry with a few wet ledges crossed without much trouble.
Wild blueberries were plentiful for a snack while approaching the Welch summit.
