 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The Class VI portion of Moose Mtn. Rd. is doable for regular cars with care but high-clearance vehicles will have a much easier time. I opted to park in a pulloff 0.1 mi. from the end of the pavement and walked from there. The pulloff at the end of the paved road across from the barn now has a no parking sign. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The hiking trail has a few scattered blowdowns; the largest is just above the second kiosk. In the switchbacks, one trail sign is down and several of the plastic blazes have fallen from their trees. |

Hadn't been here in a long time but needed to check a few things for the SNHTG.
Overall conditions were fairly dry with some running water and puddles along the road walks. The hiking trail had some small areas of mud. There's a little bit of erosion where switchbacks are being bypassed (why?).
The view from the summit is pretty restricted now with the trees growing up. The high point, right beside the trail, has a small cairn.
The view from the cliff on East Peak is still fantastic and is the best spot up there. From the cliff, an obvious herd path continues for about 0.1 mi. to the true summit of the East Peak atop a wooded ledge.
This summer of weird weather continues. When it's not pouring, the humidity is sky-high. |
