Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There was one crossing on Drake's Brook that it took me a while to figure out--I think it was the first main crossing. As it was, I got only the bottom part of my boots wet. At the end, on the Sandwich Mountain Trail, while my husband went across some large rocks, I ended up fully submerging my boots. I looked for a better place to cross and the water was too deep elsewhere. The rocks in the water were slippery with moss; I'm glad I had my poles. I can imagine this crossing is much worse now. I got across fine, but the boots are still wet two days later.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Towards the end of the Sandwich Mountain Trail, after the last big descent, the trail is blocked by trees and brush. We went back-and-forth, wondering if we'd made a wrong turn. We hadn't. We had to go through the brush to the side and meet up with the trail after this blocked area.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful hike and trails. Sandwich Mountain Trail was steep in the best way--small rocks, springy turf/dirt, and no significant obstacles impeding a safe and quick (and fun!) descent. Lots of good viewpoints to stop and pause, too. We knew that weather would be coming in later that day, so we didn't want to stop for too long at either Jennings or Sandwich, but it was a great afternoon out there. I do think the water crossings will be much more difficult after the most recent rain. And, that the muddy areas will be more unavoidable.
