Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great trail for dogs. River down below, and a couple of small streams higher up. I'd still bring some water, but no difficult spots for the pups. Saw two during our hike.
Bugs
Bugs: Out, but not bad. Used some bug spray on the way up. Didn't need it coming down.

Comments
Comments: I expect the view from Stairs would normally be especially stunning, however we were socked in with fog at the summit of both Resolution and Stairs. The trail was typical NH woods. Some mud at the beginning and a water crossing (slightly difficult due to the persistent rains). Then a fairly steep up. Plenty of wet, and mud along the way. Most fairly easy to avoid. Once past Crawford (which we skipped as we'd done this previously) the trail is relatively flat with short inclines right before Stairs and Resolution. Saw two garter snakes - eek!
