Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The whole hike was a water crossing! 1 each on Carter Dome & 19 MB. Water really moving but we just walked thru, already soaked. Can be rock hopped. Should recede, never seen it like that before.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bog bridges after Imp Cutoff were underwater. 2-3 actually floating and out of position. Carter-Moriah past South heading to Zeta Pass is its usual mess of blowdowns. Thanks to the trail maintainer, this area is a continuous full time job! Step over/under, around....eye pokers. Carter Dome & 19 MB water bars failing, water pouring down the trails.
Dog-Related Notes

Comments
Comments: Absolutely the wettest I’ve ever been hiking! No surprise as it rained several days in a row, but all trails were super wet & muddy. Standing & running water on all trails. We almost called it early when we encountered the bridging past Imp. Made it up the waterfall below North, very slippery. Decided continuing on over the Carters would be easier than going down North Carter & Imp, as they are always wet. Finding a solid dry spot to step was the challenge of the day, finally we gave up & just continued. No views at all just fog. Decided against Dome as we were done with wet, heading down it was more of the same but warmer. River overflowed it’s banks, damage unknown until levels recede. We still had a great weekend as these conditions only added to the adventure! Saw only 20 total out both days, not a surprise.
