Bridged on Blueberry Ledge, rock hop on Dicey's Mill (we used the downed tree to bridge). Water level normal despite all the rain lately. |

Trails are in excellent condition, thanks to the trail maintainers! |

I personally would not bring my dog up Blueberry Ledge Tr, but know some good trail dogs who are just fine. Know your dog. |

Not a problem while walking, but any stops lead to quick formation of skeeter swarms. They seemed to respect the bug spray and not bite, but they did hover. |

Despite an almost full lot we didn't come across many people all day, which was a surprise, but trails are many in this area. A few headed up Blueberry Ledge Tr, a few heading down it (some ledge was wet, but grippy still). Chatted with a US Forest Service Ranger for a few, thanks for your good work.
A couple pink lady slippers, many blue bead lily flowers (I think), some mayflower, and some bunchberry in flower.
Some muddy sections on Rollins, waterproof boots advised.
A revisit for me (after several years), a new 4000 footer for my hiking buddy. We did not add Passaconaway today, but it looks like a few headed up that way, including the Forest Ranger, so maybe others will report on that section of trail.
Love that the Sandwich Creamery is not far from Ferncroft. Post hike ice cream! |
