Started solo but got stuck at the first significant water crossing at the beginning of the cascades. Two hikers coming up behind me were able to get across and helped me to do the same. Incredible thanks to these two guys as I prob would have turned around without their help. Hiked together for the rest of the hike. Trails overall were in good shape but wet and slippery. At the cascades we followed the remnants of the old trail rather than taking the newer trail. Essentially we kept the river close to our left while ascending. The designated trail was farther to the right of water as you ascend and the trail marker (a wood sign w/ an arrow) is easily missed as you ascend. Herdpath from the ponds to the peak were thick and overgrown but the herdpath was easily followed. |
