Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails to Black Cap are wide and easy to follow, and are shared with mountain bikers, which contributes to the erosion on these trails.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Coop had a blast; super easy trails for dogs. Some running water on the trails today for pups, but if things dry out this will change. Also, the trails to Black Cap are shared with mountain bikers, so pups should probably stay on leash.

Comments
Comments: Walked westward down road to unnamed trailhead on north side of road to Hurricane Mountain. Trail is partly obscured by blowdowns, but once through this initial section the trail is super easy to follow. Many cairns mark the trail, as well. Few rock ledges were very slippery due to coverage of wet moss. Near the summit, the trail becomes more obscured requiring some bushwhacking. Summit is easy to locate with handle on tree. At least one old mine near the trail to check out.

Once back in the parking lot, proceeded up the Black Cap trail to the summit. Multiple sections of mud that could be mostly avoided, some running water. Multiple mountain bikers out today enjoying the trails, as well. Ledges were dry. Bugs were bothersome at summit when stopped. Some views, but I understand the trees have grown to hide past views.
