Comments
Comments: crawford path had packed snow and some substantial ice patches and flows up to treeline. mostly packed snow and bare rock to eisenhower with little exposed ice. from pierce to mizpah things were sloppy with slushy snow and soft ice bulges. trail to jackson tracked out, but a bit less than the others. ledges to summit a mix of bare rock and powder snow. webster-jackson trail was a bit more interesting. packed snow and some ice on the descent from the summit cone. upper half of trail had substantial ice patches and flows and was slow going. below the trail split footing was much nicer with mostly just packed down snow. only a couple ice flows shortly before the trailhead.

put on microspikes low on crawford path and wore them the rest of the day. was out early enough that balling was not an issue except on the descent to mizpah.
based on yesterdays forecast this hike looked like a good bet today. almost decided to go higher this morning, but stuck with it and was glad i did. definitely one of my favorite hikes on a nice sunny day. steady wind heading to eisenhower in the morning which seemed to dissipate into the afternoon. pretty quiet up there today. great to be out.
