Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked in the mid sized dirt lot on Shaker Rd. This was the northernmost, Tower trailhead. There is another trailhead for Vista Way, about a 1/2mi south along the road. One other car when I arrived just before 9am and I think there were seven cars there when I returned around shortly after 11:30am. Room for maybe another half dozen or so cars before the lot would begin to overflow.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I don’t recall any
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Tower Trail is blazed in yellow. Summit Rd is not blazed obviously. Vista Way, Upper Trail, Dancing Bear, and Ledges Pass Trail are blazed in red. Krupa Loop is blazed in blue. All trails are well blazed and east to follow. I don’t recall any blowdowns beyond trivial stepovers.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I didn’t see any, but good trails for dogs. I think they’re allowed.
Bugs
Bugs: I think while there were a bunch of mosquitos in the parking lot, I was not bothered on trail and did not use bug spray.

Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: First hike of the day to get some more SNH Redlining in the Merrimack Valley tab done. I followed Tower Trail to the summit, then did an OAB on the Oak Hill Summit Road, then descended back to my car via the “Oak Hill Summit Loop” as described in the SNH guidebook which included Tower Trail —> Krupa Loop —> Dancing Bear Trail —> Upper Trail —> Ledges Pass Trail —> Tower Trail BUT when I hit the jct of Ledges Pass and Upper trails, hiked south along Vista Way Trail to Oak Hill Vista, then looped around on Ledges Pass Trail back to Tower Trail as described in the guidebook as the “Vista Way Loop”.

There was no mud that I recall, just some wet trail due to recent rain. Lucky for me, it didn’t really rain on me at all as I hiked. I even had views from the tower as the summit was not in cloud but the tower was locked. That said, many surrounding peaks were so I did not get quite the views that one normally would. All trails were rather gradual. Moderate grades at worst. Gaia had me at 7mi, 825ft of gain, 2hr45min.
