Water Crossing Notes: Rock hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in fairly good shape. There are a couple of blowdowns that could be taken out, but nothing urgent, as all are easy enough to step over or straddle/swing legs. One had been chopped totally through at one end but only halfway through on the bigger end. About a half a mile up from the highway, one of the straddle/swing blowdowns had a number of sharp stubs where dead branches had been snapped off by others. These stubs made crossing over them tricky for the first ones in our group. I cut all those stubs down flush with the small foldup saw - much easier now.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies were out, a bit annoying in some locations, but mostly not a great problem if one kept moving along the trail.

Comments
Comments: Trails were fairly dry all the way, with just a little mud and water to walk around or over here and there. The first patch of snow we saw was high up and off the trail. Right at the junction at the bottom of the chimney climb up the last bit to the top, perhaps 30-40 ft of the trail was spring snow, with some postholes. None of this warranted putting on traction.
