The 1.3 mile forest walk to the Mt. Osceola Trail Junction was beautiful this morning. The biggest water crossing was rock hoppable today, and there wasn’t much mud. The Mt Osceola Trail is a steep, mostly dry scramble for the last mile to the summit. This last mile was straight up and the majority of the 2200+ elevation gain. It’s a long beautiful scramble and since I was by myself, I took my sweet time! What fun for me and this part of the hike really got my adrenaline spiked. Two or three really nice views along the way but this summit is not open and beautiful like Mt. Osceola. I’m psyched I came from the Kancamagus today. Had this mountain all to myself!! |
