Great day to hike Garfield. The trail got a little bit wet towards the junction with the Garfield Ridge Trail. From the junction to the summit, there's some remaining ice on the trail, but there are rocks sticking up through it such that I never considered using spikes. It's easy enough to use the rocks to avoid the ice, and the ice itself is so dirty that it's almost sticky anyway.
tl;dr leave the spikes at home unless you're insanely nervous about residual snow/ice. Garfield's ready for the taking. |
