bad gnats from trailhead to ~2800ft elevation. Even getting in the car as quickly as possible let in 50 gnats. Thankfully no issues with black flies or other biting insects |

a nice day on the trail with enough shade and breeze to make the temperatures comfortable. Only issue was the bugs at low elevations; be prepared to keep moving for the first mile or so, or you'll turn into Pig-Pen from Peanuts. |
