Comments
Comments: This turned out to be a great hike today. Nice sedate 10:00 am start got the chill out of the air a little bit. Snow right down to Route 16 increasing with elevation. *-10 inches on the ridge...still kind of bony for snowshoes but there were a couple of spots they might have been good. Slush from previous post frozen up with lots of black and blue ice on Imp Trail by the brook..spikes were fine. Greeted with virtually calm winds and terrific visiblity from North Carter viewpoint..layered up a bit to head to Middle but there was no need as there was barely a breath of wind today.

very clear skies. You could hear the wind howling in the Presis but nothing here. Rocks and roots filling in a bit which made for pretty decent footing.
