Comments
Comments: Slight mud on 19 mile/carter notch, nothing too crazy. Plan was to D out and back, however, my friend didn't feel well and decided to return off B. I continued on to D and ended up deciding to descend ski trail and walk 16 back to the trailhead. Told him if he beat me back to the car, go south til you see me.

A nice fellow ended up giving me a ride back for the last 1.8 mi, was grateful as it was getting warm jogging down 16 with my pack on.

All in all I would highly recommend a combo including 19 mile brook for those who wish to complete the cats, but are squeamish about the ascent from pinkham notch.. A car spot at the lodge, if possible, can turn a difficult out and back across the ridge into a pleasant and relaxing, scenic stroll of under 9 miles. If car spot isn't possible, it's all downhill on the road back to 19 mile trailhead. Get out and go!
