Comments
Comments: Cool windy day, minimal views all day. After the rains all trails were wet. Lots of running water, mud, snow/ice on all trails made for wet feet all day. No snow ice until 1/2 mile from Jackson. Elevated monorail on all trails were for most part stable with 1–3-foot snow depths. Never needed spikes as it didn't last long enough. Saw a few wearing them. 1st time on Webster Cliff, snow early then just wet. Miss stepped onto bog bridges went shin deep into cold mud. Not as much snow heading up to Pierce, but still sloppy conditions. More snow heading down Crawford, with firm monorails. Winds really picked up in the exposed areas. Many spots with standing water, finding rocks to step on was hard. Dropped pack & made the climb getting blasted by the winds. From the last cairon to summit I had to lean into it. The loop is completely dry. By the time I got back across Ike had cleared & the sun was out. Snow/ice until past Mizpah Cutoff, water bars up high are really flowing. Trail for the most part was dry for the last 1-1/2 miles.
