Comments
Comments: Beautiful day for a hike up the Osceolas. The trail was dry up to the rock faces. Here spring melt and debris made the inclines a little slick but manageable. There was more mud from the collapsing monorail in the last 0.5 mile and then a little unavoidable tentacle of a monorail for about 0.25 miles. Firm in the morning but soft and slippery in the afternoon. We saw a few hikers on our morning ascent of Mt Osceola, and after basking in the sun of the ledges, headed to the East peak. After negotiating the dry chimney (Sunshine bounded through it like a mountain goat both ways; I took the detour), we summited the second peak and started encountering more and more hikers. It started to feel like a weekend summer hike by the time we got back to Mt Osceola: groups of hikers & tons of (well behaved) pups in all directions. I think shoulder season may be over, friends! Oh and we barefooted the whole hike.
