Comments
Comments: 19 Mile Brook Trail had a couple inches of powder that had been tracked out yesterday by a couple of people. One of us put microspikes on early but the rest of us barebooted up Carter Dome trail to Zeta Pass. At the beginning of Carter Dome trail I had to take off my long underware as the temps were warmer than predicted. As the trail started to get steep going up South Carter, I put on microspikes but the other 2 barebooted the whole hike.

There was about 4 to 5 inches of snow on the ridge and the few drifts were not very deep.

Going down the Imp trail was pretty much a running brook, with some powder snow that was deeper here than at the beginning. Nobody had gone past Zeta Pass and we met one shirtless young man coming up the Imp trail. He was going to spend the night and go out over Moriah tomorrow. We walked the road from Joe Dodge Lodge back to the car. Had to take off the microspikes off by the time we got to the sharp right hand turn near the end because the snow was sticky and balling up. It was a wonderful hike with great views and little wind.
