Comments
Comments: classic late spring scene: dry trail to ~3K' then a fairly stable but narrow monorail up Glencliff. the ridge is a mix of monorail and dry trail -- just as you decide to put on spikes, the ice ends. the cairns and summit completely dry. top of Beaver Brook below tree line is a post holed mess, but was frozen solid today. Benton is sketchy rotten snow and ice over wet trails to well past 3K', then some running water on the trail until the last mile or so. tunnel surprisingly dry, only a few muddy bits and some challenging water crossings. plenty of moose action down low.
