Mt Adams
Airline, Mt Adams summit trail
Exhilarating windy day up & down airline. Bare boots till almost kings ravine trail junction when traction in wind became concerning. Significant but compacted snow is at treeline (3500+) & then patchy above treeline with some postholes among jagged rocks potential. My solution was to slow pace & enjoy the epic views, but snowshoes would have been welcome gear for summit trail to Adams. IMO not worth carrying them above treeline until/if we get significant new snow. Beautiful flowers & greenery. |
