Comments
Comments: Snow started around 3,000’. Garfield ridge trail was a mess of supportive and unsupportive monorail in spots and just garbage in other spots. Climb up to south twin has some exposed rocks on the lower section but fills in for the upper 2/3s. I used snowshoes on the way up and that worked well. Coming down spikes were fine but the snow was pretty soft and rotting so post hiking did happen off and on. Twinway from S. Twin to Guyot is still pretty deep, no elevated monorail there. Wore snowshoes yesterday on my way in in the afternoon heat and was happy I did as it was getting soft. Bare trail from the open section by the bondcliff trail junction up and over guyot. More deep snow on the south side of guyot but was mostly supportive. Snowshoes were necessary for going down to the shelter. Snow is still very deep through there. Tent platforms are all about half covered still. Bear boxes are completely buried. Happy spring!
