Comments
Comments: Perfect sunny spring day. Trail is dry for first 1/2 mile or so. At the second major river crossing after a down hill, there is a fair amount of ice in the ravine down and up, but able to safely traverse with bare boots. Then up past the ski area turn off about 1.5mi in total, the trail is covered with monorail, soft ice and snow. It is like this all the way to the summit. Traction was fine up and down with micro spikes. Didn’t post hole at all, but you can hear the hollow ice, and see water flowing under in sections. Some good break thrus, post holes are still there to be had. Summit rocks are snow free and fine for lunching and taking in the views. Plenty of peaks in the distance are all white. Many in trail runners, a bit wet for me so I was in water proof hiking boots.
