Dry trail until the last ~1.5mi from the summit, then there's gradual patches of snow/ice that turn into a pretty consistent monorail until you get to the summit. most of the monorail was relatively stable, noticed parts starting to break off on the descent in the afternoon due to the warmth/sun. Put microspikes on slightly after the snow started, definitely needed them today. A few postholes here and there but nothing crazy. running water and patches of mud throughout the trail as well. soaked boots by the end of the day but worth it. beautiful views up top, clear day. |
