Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Small dirt parking lot at the end of York Pond Rd, about 2 miles past the fish hatchery. The gate was open when we arrived at 7:45 pm. I called the hatchery the day before and they explained that they haven't had to close the gates at 4 for the past year, but may at resume doing so at any time if there's any vandalism on the property.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only one notable stream crossing early into Bunnell Notch Trail, however, much of the trail was wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in generally good condition, if difficult to follow in a few places along Bunnell Notch and Kilkenny Ridge Trails
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: n/a
Bugs: A few flies and mosquitoes here and there, but nothing to write home about.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I somehow misplaced a Black Garmin InReach Mini 2, most likely in the parking lot after the hike. If found, please shoot me an email - I will be eternally grateful.
Comments: Trail is in generally good shape, with just a few blowdowns. On and off stable monorail begins about halfway up Bunnell Notch Trail. Spikes were necessary near the junction of Bunnell Notch and Kilkenny Ridge up till the summit. Lots of soft snow on either side of the monorail on Kilkenny Ridge. Our original plan was to hike the full loop with Unknown Pond Trail, however, the trail from the Summit on towards the Unknown Pond was unmarked and somewhat difficult to follow, so we played it safe and turned back.
