Comments
Comments: Trail was awesome to beyond the views above Surprise. Snow started maybe 1.5 miles from the summit and was a mess of running water, melting sticky snow, and post holes. Could definitely have been worse, but did make for slow going. Opted to use the spikes, though I could’ve used snowshoes for the last 1/2 mile or so. Monorail held for the most part, but it’s super narrow and the melting snow made sliding off a certainty. The raining from the trees didn’t help either. At least the views were stunning today!
