Comments
Comments: Ascended Blueberry Ledge trail. Bare boots until about 3100’ for icy, old monorail. 3300” elevated monorail which remained stable in the AM, but soft sided. Rollins trail to Whiteface elevated monorail which varied in stability all the way to Dicey’s Mill Tr. Many small blowdowns on Rollins with spikey/brushy over-unders, but difficult to go around because of deep, soft snow. DM trail up to Passaconaway soft and deep with partial stable monorail and sections with little purchase in the afternoon. Spikes off on descent of DM at about 3100’. Parts of the DM were dry, others running water, other muddy. Expect all conditions — ice, snow, water, mud. Snowshoes would have been helpful on Rollins.
