Started at 6am. Only ones in the lot and only crossed paths with 2 solo hikers all day. Not as muddy as I thought it might be. Water crossings were rock hopable. Skipped bald peak and put on spikes about a mile from the junction. Only minor postholing. Monorail was most stable if you could find it. I was expecting more exposed rocks on kinsman ridge but all rock scrambles leading up to north were snow covered and easy to navigate with spikes. Between peaks had a few more exposed rocks. Super windy, so summit time was very limited. Happy surprised with how great the trail was. |
