Comments
Comments: Beginning of trail up to about 1600 ft mostly dry, no snow/ice. After that micro spikes needed. Constant monorail from about 2500 to peak. Post holes on sides. Started getting slushy on way down and more unstable. Couple of challenging rock scrambles to North Kinsman but not undoable. Great views from North Kinsman few feet away from summit (large triangular boulder we were told). Follow short trail leading to outcropping with large ledge overlooking Franconia ridge. From there follow Kinsman Ridge trail to South Kinsman about 1/2 hour in current conditions (two challenging steeper rock scrambles but not undoable). Summit is unclear because some sources say it’s at three way rocky intersection and other source says it’s at stone throne cairn about 5 min walk away. We went to both to make sure we reached both.
