 | Comments: |
Roadwalk is a breeze, almost completely bareground and dry. Patchy monorail alternates with dry trail, wet trail, mud, and standing water for a couple miles before a nice long stretch of dry trail prior to about 2300' where spikes go on for good as monorail now is present from here the entire way up to the summit. Was stable but incredibly thin and painfully tedious to stay on with the typical shin-thigh deep postholing for sliding off the monorail. Conditions are such that snowshoes won't help with this mess. On the descent, it turned into a slip and slide from 3500' down to about 2500' and my rock spikes didn't do the job as a lotta of 4 letter words were said in that mile. Down low, even tho about half of the first 2 miles is monorail, in many spots you can easily walk around it and in many other places its flat so u can easily bareboot it without issues staying on the monorail |
