Comments
Comments: It is indeed a truism that if you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a minute - or a few days, as it turns out. Given the Teal Goat's excellent report from Sunday, I was expecting a slosh fest on the W/P loop, but no. Temps fell, things froze, it started snowing, and nothing looked the same. It was actually not too bad, though, as the remains of the monorail - along Rollins and Dicey's Mill down to about 2,600 - were stable, though spots were treacherously icy. Ledges were mostly free of snow and ice, but in the places where some wedges remained in the crevices, they actually helped to boost oneself up the faces. Some water and mud after the log crossing; just play the lava game and you should stay dry. Used rock spikes from below the ledges, across Rollins, up and down Passaconaway, and down to about 2600 on Dicey's Mill. Pulled to within 100 left to Grid, which seemed optimistic until I just typed it. Haha.
