 | Comments: |
Hodgepodge of conditions with cooler temperatures and new snow.
No new snow in the lower elevations, with the woods being bare down there. Plenty of manmade (somewhat spring snow consistency this afternoon) still on the Front Five (or Front 20 based on their trail counting). A little patchy in places above there, but with a dusting to an inch or so of new natural. New snow locked in the base as frozen granular, so snowshoes were the way to go to get purchase and also float. Some postholes to contend with on the short spur to the summit tower. A foot or two of natural snowpack in the woods too.
Chilly afternoon/evening, particularly after the summer weather. |
