Parking/Access Road Notes: Haystack Road is closed, it's an additional 2.5 mile walk each way to the trailhead and back.

Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow - Spring Snow, Leaves - Significant/Slippery, Snow/Ice - Postholes

Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction

Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings were not an issue on this hike.

Dog-Related Notes: Fine if you want a muddy dog in your car.

Bugs: Was raining, so no bugs.

Comments: Lower elevations the trail was running water. Higher elevations it was soft snow and crumbling monorail. I highly recommend snowshoes. Spikes wouldn't have cut it today. And use your poles for balance, as snowshoes alone aren't enough.
