Comments
Comments: There was a big mix of different conditions out there today. Airline was solid enough in the morning that we were able to use microspikes without postholing too much. There was ice, but it wasnt hard enough to switch to crampons. We used bare boots upon entering the alpine zone of airline. Above treeline there was mostly bare rock. Taking starr lake down from adams was a bad decision since there were still large snowfields in that area. We had quite a difficult time passing through those, so it might be best to use gulfside, airline to reach adams for now. Valley way was quite soft in the afternoon on the way down, so I found it most efficient to snowshoe down. Most others were in microspikes. The monorail on valley way got pretty narrow and there were some huge postholes. There is still alot of snow out there, so it would be wise to bring your snowshoes for this hike.
